The Uses of Anger (Teach-In) | Instructor: Annu Dahiya | Tuesday September 10 | 6:00-7:30 PM ET | ONLINE

In her 1981 speech “The Uses of Anger: Women Responding to Racism,” Audre Lorde argued that anger and rage are the result of racism and sexism, but that anger is not futile. Instead, it is “loaded with information and energy” that must be actively translated into meaningful social change. In this teach-in, we’ll learn about Lorde’s life and introduce ourselves to her powerful ideas about anger by engaging with key parts of her speech. This teach-in will give folks the opportunity to learn more about Lorde’s ideas about anger as a primer to the upcoming Night School Bar class inspired by Lorde on Feminist and Anti-Racist Philosophies of Rage

This is a one-time, synchronous opportunity to join us and learn in community. It will not be recorded.
